The Icing writes: The Icing was established more than 14 years ago. Owner Lynnette Drake began creating custom cakes from her home with an emphasis on beautiful cakes that tasted great. Fast forward to today and The Icing has grown into a true hometown bakery. We still create custom cakes that taste amazing, but have added cupcakes, pies, cookies, breads and so much more! Everything is made from scratch in small batches baked daily in house. There are no preservatives in anything we create, nor is anything ever frozen. We have been fortunate in our success and with that in mind The Icing supports many local charities- Lynnette is a big believer in supporting the local community. We donate to the Fredericksburg SPCA by providing centerpiece cakes for their fundraisers, as well as financial donations. We also give to the Wounded Warriors and are a huge backer of Stafford County Public Schools. Unsold bakery items are donated to the local food bank, rather than thrown away.
