Dumbarton
The Dumbarton House is a time capsule of the post-Revolutionary period, and a veritable architectural building itself. The former home of Joseph Nourse, the nation's first Register of the Treasury, the Dumbarton House features over 1,000 Federal period pieces, including documents of the Nourse family history.
Dumbarton House is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with the last entry at 2:45 pm. Guided tours are available if scheduled in advance. Call 202-337-2288 to schedule a tour.
