Chez Andree - Alexandria VA
Andree writes: Since 1964, Chez Andrée has been known for country French Cuisine. Stanley and Andrée Lecureux opened the restaurant in what was originally a “railroad bar” that serviced the nearby Potomac Yards. Today Potomac Yards is populated with stores, but in the past it was a large rail yard. In those days the restaurant was known for a sign out front that said “shirts and shoes required.” Today son Steve Lecureux and his sister Laurence Matrat are in charge, now that their parents have retired. And the restaurant has grown much larger and fancier, including the bar area with a large classic wood bar facing a spectacular mural that looks like a scene from Moulin Rouge
